TALIA K. GEE remembers regularly watching a show about a criminal defense attorney with her grandfather. “That’s what I want to be,” she told him. Her career aspiration ended in the midst of her first criminal justice class as a freshman at St. John's. She simply wasn’t interested. Talia then gravitated toward her love of sports. Sports management would perfectly blend her passion with a career path. It was at that time that Talia realized she enjoyed helping people run their businesses.
After graduating from St. John’s, she continued on to law school and business school and received a dual JD/MBA. She loves advising business owners on important legal matters. From her stint as a Staff Attorney for Community Legal Aid to her current work specializing in management-side, employment and labor law, she knows she made the right career choice.
Talia is a believer in giving back to her community. From the time she was six years old, she went to the Boys & Girls Club on Carew Street in Springfield where she played basketball and mastered double-dutch. Today, she’s back at the Club where she’s a volunteer coach and member of the Board of Directors. She loves the innocence of the kids and hopes that she can help them realize their dreams and, like her, grow up to pay it forward.
